INTRODUCTION TO INDIAN POLITY &
CONSTITUTION


POLITY :- Form of government in a country [how a state or country will
be ruled].
Constitution :- Set of rules by which country is govern or ruled /
which decides, how a state will be ruled .
{Also called final law}


Three pillars of state

Legislative :- derived from
word(legislate) , which means making of
law .
 These are people ‘s representatives
.
e.g. - MPs ,MLAs
Executives :- These are policy makers.
E.g. – ministers.
Judiciary:- These are Supreme court ,
High court , district court.

,  The judicial sydtem also includes
subordinate courts , such as
 Civil courts
 Criminal courts
 Revenue court
1)Supreme court :-
The highest court in the country , established in 1950 . It has three
types of judrisdiction : advisory , appellate , and original . The
supreme court protects the fundamental rights of the people and
acts as a mirror of the constitution .
2)High court :-
The highest judicial body at the state level . High courts have
appellate judrisdiction in each state and union territory , but they
can also exercise original civil and criminal jurisdiction if
subordinate courts aren’t authorized to try certain matters .
3)District court :-
Established by state government for each district or group of
district based on population density and caseload . district judges
work in a wide range of civil and family law cases.
 Civil courts :- deals with civil cases of the
general public , including family disputes .
cases can be related to financial rights ,
intellectual properties , lands , mortgages,
and disputes about contracts.

,  Criminal courts:- deals with criminal cases.
 Revenue courts:-deals with cases of land
revenue .
