problems getting through the day. Many
children occasionally have problems like
fears and worries, or disruptive behaviors.
If symptoms are severe and persistent,
and interfere with school, home, or play
activities, the child may be diagnosed
with a mental disorder.

DISORDER
Autistic disorder is characterized by a
withdrawal of the child into the self and into a
fantasy world of his or her own creation.
The child has markedly abnormal or impaired
development in social interaction and
communication.
Activities and interests are restricted and may
be considered somewhat bizarre.
