The term cyber security is simply a combination of cyber relating to computers and systems while
security meaning protection from harm.
Therefore the aim of cyber security is essential to protect computer systems.
Cyber security involves working to prevent bad actors from gaining access to data
Systems that's need to remain private.
Importance of cyber security
Attacks on computers systems and networks are nothing new.Infact you could argue that it’s been in
existence even before internet through the original tone-based phones jam the network using whistles
that could imitate the systems sounds.
The foundation of information security
The CIA triad is a cyber-security model that highlights three cornerstone of information security:
Confidentiality, integrity and availability as illustrated below

Integrity
Each three parts are significant and understanding them is deeply important to cyber security on any
scale.
1. Confidentiality- refers to keeping sensitive or private information from unauthorized individual
2. Integrity-involves protecting the accuracy of information from unauthorized party’s example of
integrity attacks includes intercepting money transfer and changing dollar amount seemingly
insignificant ways. Integrity is often achieved by using secure hashing algorithm when
transferring data.
