Each Organization has its own structure depending on the work they are performing. There are 3
organizational Structures.
1. Functional Organizations
2. Projectized Organizations
3. Matrix Organizations
Let’s study all of them one by one and understand how these organization works.
Functional Organization:
• Departments are grouped by specialization.
• Project is usually executed in silo environment.
• Functional Manager has all the authority.
• Resources report to functional Manager
• Project Manager act as project Expeditor / Coordinator.
In Short “Each Department is a function common to the entire organization with its own chain of
commands. They all join only at the top.”
These all are functional Managers of These all FM combined here
their own department. They are for detailed discussions and
