Ethical Behavior, Diversity, Civil Discourse, and Education: A Literature Review
The purpose of this investigation into the relevant body of literature is to investigate the
link between moral behavior, cultural diversity, and polite conversation in the academic setting.
Ethical conduct is in contrast to diversity, which may refer to factors other than religion, race,
gender, and language (Shapiro & Stefkovich, 2011). Ethical conduct refers to the moral ideas
and ideals that individuals use to guide the actions that they engage in (Shapiro & Stefkovich,
2011). On the other side, the definition of civil discourse is an exchange of ideas that is
courteous, helpful, and tolerant of the points of view held by other individuals. Although each of
these three aspects is essential to the development of an effective educational environment, there
needs to be more research that investigates the interaction between them. This study will depend
on prior research to evaluate how these concepts have been understood more recently and what
that implies for teaching in the classroom.
At the beginning of this research project, the relevance of maintaining civility and
diversity while still adhering to ethical standards is explored. The research that has been
conducted on the interaction between these three elements is then deconstructed to explain how
they might be used to the most significant possible advantage in the service of educational aims.
As the assessment draws close, consideration is given to how the findings may be used in the
classroom. This literature review provides information on how factors such as ethical conduct,
diversity, and civil discourse can support successful teaching and learn in educational settings by
examining their interrelationships. This will be accomplished by providing an analysis of the
interrelationships between the factors.
