Anatomy - ANSWER:The branch of science that studies the structure of the body

Homeostasis - ANSWER:Literally means staying the same
Superior - ANSWER:Part is above another part or is closer to the head
Inferior - ANSWER:Part is located below another part or is closer to the feet
Anterior (ventral) - ANSWER:Toward the front surface (the belly surface)
Posterior (dorsal) - ANSWER:Toward the back surface
Medial - ANSWER:Toward the midline of the body
Lateral - ANSWER:Away from the midline of the body
Proximal - ANSWER:Nearer to the point of attachment, often the trunk of the body
Distal - ANSWER:farther away from the point of attachment
Superficial - ANSWER:Located on or near the surface of the body
Deep - ANSWER:Body part is away from the surface of the body
Central - ANSWER:Located in the center
Peripheral - ANSWER:Away from the center
Sagittal Plane - ANSWER:Divides the body lengthwise into right and left portions
Frontal plane - ANSWER:Divides the body into anterior(ventral) and posterior(dorsal)
portions also called the coronal plane
Transverse plane - ANSWER:Divides the body horizontally, creating an
upper(superior) and a lower(inferior) body
