Purpose: To apply the principles of natural selection to the effect of predation and
background on the color patterns of male guppies over a period of 15 generations.

Hypothesis (5 points)
, Pond 1 I predict these guppies will begin to adapt to their surroundings by

because it is coarse. Also they will keep their dark uninteresting
color to hide easier from the predator.
Pond 2 I predict these guppies will begin to adapt to their surroundings by

because it is fine. Also they will keep their dark uninteresting color to
hide from the predator

Pond 1 Coarse Yes 1. The guppies were light green colored. They
had black, red, and light grey spots. There are
five spots on the guppies.
2. The guppies have become almost transparent
and the spots became larger covering more of
the guppies’ bodies.
