The endings of titanic
1. The real ending, creates affective realism may her/ memories stay forever, she was
always connection to the Titianic she still stayed there, she always went back to that
memories it was where she was truly happy she her memories made her who she was,
the chicken/egg theory.
2. The package deal of the ending of the titianic talking about the scenes rather than just
seeing, not trusting the audience, edits out your subject positions, all placed on the ships
captain, gives us the other romantic couple. Takes away the sacred item (the heart of the
ocean) unearned ending.
Soturching (stitching an open wound)
Film anyalsis, that are stitching you to the movie, that something that you are lacking are
effective by the movie.
Why is the ending so successful why did they pick that ending, effect closure,
melodrama will rise conflicts (charlotte w mother, Jerry, fiancé,) to reach a successful
close, opens more issues that it can resolves. (A sacred present, makes it clear to have
an overarching source) Character are about atonement, takes all the possibilities take
them to a point.
Jerry is thinking of Secular thinking, feels selfish
Charollte seen as a prophet in this scene, preaching to him, about his narrow mindset.
Seen almost like Adam and Eve, Jarqith is god
Have to have everything
Watching, seeing,
Differences not in the mug, can’t absorb the events, different subject position, how are
you position as subject, how are you as the subject watching the movie, how we
perceive ourself, relates to genres,
Self is constructed, fiction
Self can be deconstructed similar to Charlotte mother; she was not allowed to construct
at all. How she should, how to relate, how to act, be, think.
