Rickettsiae is a gram negative bacteria
that lives inside the cell of the host
It is often found in ticks, lice, fleas, mites,
chiggers and mammals.
This includes genera rickettsiae,
Ehrlichia, Orientia and Coxiella
This zoonotic pathogens cause infection
that disseminate in the blood to many
organs
