TOPIC: MUSCULAR TISSUE
1) SKELETAL MUSCLE
> cylindrical > voluntary
> unbranched > no intercalated disc
> multinucleated > easily fatigue
> striated muscles(peripheral position) > fast contraction
> high blood supply > eg. Biceps, triceps, facial muscle
2)SMOOTH MUSCLE
> spindle > unbranched
> uninucleated (centre) > no striations
>involuntary > less blood supply
> slow contraction > slow fatigue
> no intercalated disc > eg. blood vessels, stomach.
3)CARDIAC MUSCLE
> cylendrical > branched
> uninucleated > striated muscles ( faint striations)
> involuntary > highest blood supply
> fastest contraction > never fatigue
> intercalated disc present >eg. Heart
NOTE:
> Intercalated disc: combination of Gap + Adhering junction
> a connective tissue layer encloses several bundles of muscle fibre
