What is an Occupational health nurse?? -
Occupational and environmental health nursing is the SPECIALTY practice that provides for and
delivers health and safety programs and services to workers, worker populations and community
groups. This practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury
and PROTECTION FROM work-related** and environmental* hazards!
What is the primary goal of an occupational health nurse?? -
Preventing injuries, work-related injuries on the job
What is an OHN? -
They are educators, researchers, managers, consultants, case manager, clinician/nurse, coordinator
of services, nurse practitioner, or corporate directors

OHN will complete a head to toe assessment of the environment
