, Anatomy of the upper eyelid
The eyelid has 4 layers:
❖Skin and subcutaneous tissue
❖Muscular layer (orbicularis oculi muscle, which is responsible for the clos
the lids)
❖Tarsal plate (which is tough, collagenous, with meibomian glands)
❖Tarsal (palpebral) conjunctiva.
➢Innervations: majorly by ophthalmic and maxillary branch of trigem
nerve.
➢Blood supply: majorly by ophthalmic and lacrimal artery.
