Tidy Wound - ANSWER Surgical incisions caused by sharp objects;
incised, clean, healthy wound without any tissue loss; heals by primary

Untidy Wound - ANSWER Due to crushing, tearing or avulsion,
devitalized tissue, vascular injury, liberal excisions, or burns; heals by
secondary intention
Class 1 Wound - ANSWER Clean Wound. A wound in which there is no
infection and the risk for development of an infection is low
