What is website?
A group of World Wide Web pages usually containing hyperlinks to
each other and made available online by an individual, company,
educational institution, government, or organization.
What is Internet?
The Internet is a global wide area network that connects computer
systems across the world.
What is WWW?
World Wide Web, which is also known as a Web, is a collection of
websites or web pages stored in web servers and connected to local
computers through the internet. These websites contain text pages,
digital images, audios, videos, etc. The World Wide Web was invented
by Tim Berners-Lee.
What do you understand by the term Repository?
A repository can be a place where multiple databases or files are
located for distribution over a network, or a repository can be a location
that is directly accessible to the user without having to travel across a
network.
What do understand by the term Spider?
A spider is a software program that travels the Web (hence the name
"spider"), locating and indexing websites for search engines. All the
major search engines, such as Google and Yahoo!, use spiders to build
and update their indexes. These programs constantly browse the Web,
traveling from one hyperlink to another.
Define environmental Studies.
Environmental studies is a multidisciplinary academic field which
systematically studies human interaction with the environment. The
environment studies make us aware about the importance of protection
and conservation of our mother earth and about the destruction due to
the release of pollution into the environment. The increase in human
and animal population, industries and other issues make the survival
cumbersome. A great number of environment issues have grown in size

,and make the system more complex day by day, threatening the
survival of mankind on earth.
Define environment.
The word ‘Environment’ is derived from the French word ‘Environner’
which means to encircle, around or surround. Environment is the sum
total of land, water, air, interrelationships among themselves and also
with the human beings and other living organisms.
What are the Objectives/Scope of Environmental Studies?
(a) Creating the awareness about environmental problems among
people.
(b) Imparting basic knowledge about the environment and its allied
problems.
(c) Developing an attitude of concern for the environment.

What is 3Rs principle in environmental issues?
The principle of reducing waste, reusing and recycling resources and
products is often called the "3Rs." Reducing means choosing to use
things with care to reduce the amount of waste generated. Reusing
involves the repeated use of items. Recycling means the use of waste
itself as resources. Waste minimization can be achieved in an efficient
way by focusing the 3Rs, "reduce," followed by "reuse" and then
"recycle."

Boolean Operators
Connectors or operators are used to tell the computer how to combine
the words you want to search. The Boolean operators "AND", "OR",
and "NOT" are used.
Use the connector "and" to tell the system that both terms are needed
to describe the subject. For example, to search the topic "censorship of
music" connect the keywords with "and" by typing:

Both the word "censorship" and the word "music" will be in the items
