DIPS - ANS Dignity- Allow client to keep dignity by giving respect
Independence- encourage them do things for themself
Preference- Give choices, ask them how they would like things done
Privacy- Keep their information private, Don't go through their belongings
Safety- Keep area free of hazards , check the 4 B, Advocate for the client
quality of life - ANS Maintaining your ability to complete your everyday tasks on your own
caring - ANS displaying kindness and concern for others, Supporting, Show regard, interest
Common threads to caring - ANS Know/ understand the other person

Orientation phase-Enters as a stranger, begins development trust, introductions, clarify roles,
indenting needs of the client
Working phase- Acting, helping phase

Uncaring actions - ANS Enabling clients
Taking over, not letting them do things for themselves
Rushing the client
Not giving them privacy
Advocacy - ANS support; active pleading on behalf of the client
caretaking - ANS Looking after the client
