what is side-lying position and when is it used ?
Side lying position is when the pt is on their side with pillows stabilizing the head, back,
upper leg, and arm. This position is used for pt with pressure on bony prominences of
the back and sacral pressure points. Also used when performing oral care on an
unconscious pt. Not used with pt after hip replacement surgery/ other orthopedic
surgery
