Non-contact:
A non-contact force is defined as the force between two objects that are not in physical contact.
For example, the attraction between the Earth and the Moon is a non-contact force since the
two never come in contact. A non-contact force is also called a field force.
Contact:
A contact force is defined as the force between two objects that are in physical contact. For
example, kicking a soccer ball is a contact force since physical contact is between the foot and
the ball.
Potential Energy
Potential energy is the stored energy in an object due to its position, properties, and forces
acting on it. Common types of potential energy include gravitational, elastic, magnetic, and
electric. These energies relate to an object's position or shape, and their potential to convert into
kinetic energy.
An electric field is a region around a charged particle or object within which a force would be
exerted on other charged particles or objects.
