Cost-benefit Analysis
The process by which an organization looks at alternatives to determine a) if they are a
sound investment and b) compares total costs of each option presented and weighs
them against the benefits they bring.
Design Phase
The design phase follows the analysis phase and is one of the most crucial phases in
the SDLC. Here, the logical (non tangible) outcomes of the analysis phase are put into
physical designs that will be built out by computer programmers.
Implementation Phase
In this phase, resources from all over an organization come together (lead by a project
manager) to conduct workflow analysis, install the new system, test the system, train
staff members, convert data and prepare for the go-live of the new system.
Planning and analysis phase
When an organization focuses on a business problem it is trying to solve. During this
phase, organizations look at current systems and problems in order to identify
opportunities for improvement.
