satisfies specified criteria.
quality control (QC)
Data supporting the existence or verity of something.
objective evidence
The evaluation of a person's ability to perform work in a functional area prior to
the performance of independent case work.
competency test
The acquisition of test data and determination of conditions and limitations of a
new or novel DNA methodology for use on forensics and/or casework reference
samples.
developmental validation
The set of operations which establish, under specified conditions, the
relationship between values indicated by a measuring instrument or measuring
system, or values represented by a material, and the corresponding known
values of a measurement.
calibration
A quality assurance measure used to monitor performance and identify areas in
which improvement may be needed for an analyst.
proficiency testing
- Internal proficiency test is one prepared and administered by the laboratory
- External proficiency test, which may be open or blind, is one which is obtained from
a second agency
A third-party attestation related to a conformity assessment body (such as
certification body, inspection body or laboratory) conveying formal
demonstration of its competence to carry out specific conformity assessment
tasks (such as certification, inspection and testing).
accreditation
A defined technical procedure to determine one or more specified characteristics
of a material or product is called service.
test method
A document specifying the quality management system of an organization.
quality manual
The property of the result of a measurement or the value of a measurement
standard that relates it to a stated reference, usually a national or international
standard, through an unbroken chain of comparisons with stated uncertainties.
