time. There is a fixed time of winter and spring. No one is born or dies prematurely. There is a time of
sowing and harvesting. There is a time for crying and rejoicing. Everything is scheduled and happens
according to the planned specific time. Nothing happens before or after the fixed time of nature time.
CRITICAL ANALYSIS:
The poem ‘Times’ reveals that we can't do different tasks at the same time. We can't plant a seed and
harvest it at a time. There is a proper cultivating and harvesting season. Everything happens on its own time.
For instance, there is for birth and death so these two can't occur at the same time. The words “to get, to lose,
to rend, and to sew” suggest the ideas of struggle and its reward. The poem reflects that there is a cause and
effect, and we should prioritize doing any task.
