Formative Assessment - ANSWER Assessment used throughout the

Summative Assessment - ANSWER Evaluation at the conclusion of a
unit. EX: end of chapter quiz/test
nominal measurement - ANSWER a level of measurement in which
numbers serve only to label categories of a variable EX: hair color,
gender, social class, etc.
Ordinal Measurement - ANSWER a measurement in which attributes
are ranked by assigning numbers in ascending or descending order EX:
academic class=freshman, sophomore, etc.
interval measurement - ANSWER a measurement in which the distance
between scores on an attribute has meaning. Same characteristics as
nominal and ordinal values but with a numerical value. EX: temperature
measured in degrees
ratio measurement - ANSWER a measurement in which the distance
between scores has meaning; it includes a true and meaningful zero
point. EX: distance, weight, pieces of pizza, etc.
Validity - ANSWER The ability of a test to measure what it is intended
to measure (specific purpose)
Reliability - ANSWER consistency of measurement
content validity - ANSWER The degree to which the content of a test is
representative of the domain it's supposed to cover. Use objectives. EX:
"At the end of the chapter, the student will be able to do..."
