What is a Cell?
A cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all living organisms. Cells are
often referred to as the "building blocks of life" because they make up all forms of
life, from single-celled organisms to complex multicellular organisms.
Types of Cells
Cells can be classified into two main categories:
1. Prokaryotic Cells
Characteristics:
No nucleus; genetic material is in the cytoplasm.
Generally smaller and simpler.
Lack membrane-bound organelles.
Examples:
Bacteria and Archaea.
2. Eukaryotic Cells
