Regulator - ANSWER -must be vented to the outside
-the purpose is to reduce the pressure
Regulator vent - ANSWER -must be pointed downwards
-must be rain/insect resistant
Meter - ANSWER -must be plumb/level in all directions
-not touching the ground
Meter Bar - ANSWER -used to connect gas meters to supply piping
Union - ANSWER used to connect the outlet piping to the customer's piping
Meter Connection Parts - ANSWER swivel nut, swivel, washer, meter spud to
create a gas-tight connection
Customer meters & regulators: Location - ANSWER -must be installed in a
readily accessible located
-protected from corrosion & damage
Service regulator installed in a building - ANSWER must be located near the
point of entrance
Each meter installed in a building - ANSWER -must be located in a ventilated
place
-not less than 3 feet away from any source of ignition
Service lines: installation - ANSWER -each buried service line must be
installed with at least 12 inches of cover in private property and at least 18
inches of cover in streets & roads
