complete your job tasks.
2. Single use disposable: Part of PPE when cleaning spills.
3. Order of PPE placement: Gown, Mask/Faceshield, Gloves is the correct
order for placement of PPE.
4.Influenza transmission: Influenza can be transmitted through airborne
transmis- sion.
5. Medical Asepsis: Clean technique for maintaining cleanliness and
preventing spread of microorganisms.
6. Surgical Asepsis: A technique used to maintain a sterile environment.
7. Vector: Living Organism that carries microorganisms from infected
person to another person.
8. Congenital Infection: An infection that is present at birth.
9. Immunity: The ability of an organism to resist infection.
10.Follow-up care: Typically scheduled after a procedure to check and/or
remove bandaging or sutures.
11.Standard Precautions: Housekeeping procedures and basic cleaning
guide- lines set by the CDC.
12.Contaminated: Anything that is sterile if touched without sterile
gloves is con- sidered contaminated and you should discard it and get
a new one.
13.Sanitization: Cleaning instruments and equipment with special
brushes and detergent to remove contaminants.
14.Mobility Exercises: Include anything that keeps the patient active
and moving such as a stationary bike.
15.Common Mobility Devices: Include Crutches, Canes, Walkers, and
Wheel- chairs.
16.Canes: Assist patients with maintaining balance in either a tripod or
quad style cane.
17.Thermotherapy: Used to treat fractures and arthritis because of its
preventive and therapeutic benefits.
18.Non-infectious body fluid: The only body fluid that is not considered
infectious.
19.Disinfectants: Come in three forms; Gel, Foams, and Sprays.
20.Biohazard waste containers: Required to be labeled and the color
can be Orange or Red.
21.Sharps Containers: Must be all of the following: Closable, Puncture
Resistant, and Water Proof.
22.Susceptible Host: An individual who is at risk of infection.
