ANALYSIS OF THE QUADRATIC FUNCTION
TAKING INTO ACCOUNT ITS ELEMENTS:
. ZEROS: are the points of intersection of the graph with the x-axis, that is, where f(x)= 0
They are calculated with the formula:
. Ordinate to the origin: it is the point of intersection of the graph with the y-axis, that is, where
f(0) = c
. VERTEX: it is the maximum or minimum of the parabola
It is calculated in this way: Vx = - b/(2.a) and then Vx is replaced in the function: Vy = f (Vx)
. AXIS OF SYMMETRY: is the value of Vx.
. CONCAVITY: if a > 0, the function is concave upwards
If a < 0, the function is concave downwards
