Task 1
Teacher has put several pictures on the board divided into two groups likes and
dislikes. On top of the first group is a “tick” and on top of the second list is an
“x”. Teacher points to the different pictures on the board and students shout out
Teacher eliciting the vocabulary. Teacher listening and correcting pronunciation.
The teacher points to the first group’s picture and smiles and rubs his/her tummy
showing like e.g. chocolate, cake. Then points to the second group and makes a
negative noise showing dislike e.g. I don’t like spinach, broccoli. Teacher then
introduces the new language and drills the students.
Task 2
Teacher looks around the classroom at the students and sees a student who is
holding a pencil and gestures him/her to give the pencil to him/her. The student
gives the teacher the pencil. The teacher takes the pencil and starts writing in a
copybook for a moment and gives the pencil back. The second time the teacher
asks for the pencil the teacher says slowly “Can I borrow your pencil” The
teacher then introduces the new language and drills the students. The teacher is
very careful to pronounce each word and syllable carefully listening out for
correct pronunciation from the students too
