2) Parts of Speech

1) Noun: - It acts as Subject and Object of the verb (Represents Action) & has 3
form.

 Rohan sang a Song Monika Slapped Rohan

2) Preposition: - It relates a noun or pronoun with other words of a sentence.
(in, on, at, from, by, with)

 Mayra Plays cricket with Dhondu

Prepositional object comes after the preposition.

 Mayra bought a laptop for Kalu from Delhi.
 Mayra bought a laptop from Kaalu.
 Mayra bought a laptop with Kaalu.

Preposition & Prepositional object can be more than 2 or 3 also.

3) Pronoun: - It acts as a substitute of noun. (It helps a noun not to be repeated)

He teaches Mohan I consoled him.

4) Verb:- It represents action.

Mohan bought a house Phoolmati kicked Shanaya.

5) Adjective :- It qualifies a noun or a pronoun.

Golu bought a big house.

Ajay solved the difficult question.

6) Adverb:- It qualifies a verb, adjective or adverb.

Ajay sings sweetly Ajay sing very sweetly

He hired a very beautiful secretary.

, 7) Conjunction:- It joins two words, phrases or Clauses.

Ram and Shyam broke the window.

Understand Clause :- It is a part of a sentence which has its own S + M.V.

He broke the window so the teacher scolded him.

8) Interjection:- It is used to express feelings or emotions.

Hurray! We won the match.

Sachin is playing cricket.

Be Verb – is/am/are/was/were/been / being -- can be a Helping Verb or Main
Verb
Ajay is a cricketer - Is there any action? First, we learnt action doer is a subject.

Helping Verbs helps you to understand Tense
He is playing – PRESENT CONTINUOUS
He was playing – PAST CONTINUOUS
He will be playing – FUTURE CONTINUOUS

Main Verb: It tells you about someone who has an information. i.e., Subject

Sachin plays cricket - Subject & Object are different

Sachin is a cricketer - Subject & Object is same

Verb has many works not only ACTION.

Subject Complement: Which tells you about the subject or which connects to the
Subject is called Subject Complement.
Linking Verb: It is main verb and known as Hifi name Linking verb, which links to
the subject.

2) Pronoun: It stands for a noun: It can be Sub/Obj/Prepositional Obj/Sub
Complement/ Obj Complement

 Mohan wrote a letter for Saloni

 He wrote it for her.

When reference is clear Noun is converted in Pronoun.

3) Adjective: It qualifies a noun or a pronoun.

We watched a nice movie.

Types of Adjectives: -

1) Qualitative Adjective: Nice-Opinion, Big-Size, New-Age, Circular-Shape, Red-
Colour, Wooden- Material etc

2) Quantitate Adjective: Some -C/UN, Many-C, Little-UC, Few-C, Much-UC etc

3) Numeral Adjective: 2 boy 2 boys
a) Cardinals - One, Two, Three or 1,2,3
b) Ordinals – First, Second, Third

4) Possessive Adjective: My, our, your, his, her, its, their etc

5) Demonstrative Adjective: This, that, these, those etc

6) Proper Adjective: Proper Noun: Ram, Delhi, Italian, German Gandhian
Italian Pizza, German tank, pistol, technology, plane
Gandhian philosophy, ideology

 The Indian bowler took 6 wickets in the last match.

 His brother teaches English to the poor student.

 Some boys broke this window.
