Make sure you use your own words (no copy and paste from any source),
but refer to the content in the PowerPoint regarding the three theories of
conflict and relate these to your personal case.
This assignment requires that you write an essay of about 25 lines, divided
into 3 sections:
SECTION 1
Think of a conflict you were involved in; describe it in writing (a long paragraph of
about 10 lines). This is pretty much an open-ended, free-style description. Describe a
real conflict in your life, not a made-up story.
SECTION 2
Review the three SOCIOLOGICAL SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT ON CONFLICT discussed in
class (in the PowerPoint)
then, write a paragraph (of about 10 lines) explaining which of these best reflects or
describes your approach to the conflict you just described
in addition, you can relate the three schools of thought in relation to your conflict and
talk about how you could/should have reacted if you had been aware of these
different approaches to conflict
SECTION 3
then write a final reflection (of about 5 lines) putting it all together, adding whatever
thoughts you may have
