CHARACTERISTICS OF A COMMUNITY :
1. defined by geographic boundaries
2. made up of institutions organized into a social system
3. with common or shared interest
4. have an area with fluid boundaries within which problems can be identified and solved
5. has a population aggregate (bumubuo / group sa loob ng community)

a. direct : nurse → patient / student
b. indirect : nurse → health teacher → student
3. FACILITATOR : establishes multi-sectoral linkages → collaborates ; team-up ; connect
a. INTRASECTORAL : within the health care system (e.g., hospital)
b. INTERSECTORAL : outside the health care system (e.g., DPWH for clean water)
4. SUPERVISOR : supervises / monitors the performance of the MIDWIVES
5. LEADER / MANAGER : planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling
6. ADVOCATE : rally for patient’s rights → fight
7. RESEARCHER / EPIDEMIOLOGIST : monitors the trends / occurrences of the disease
INDIVIDUAL AS A CLIENT :

→ it has BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL WELL-BEING (bio → physical ; psycho → mental)
→ SPIRITUAL WELL-BEING
GENDER : masculinity / femininity of an individual (culture specific)
→ lalaki, babae, bakla, tomboy, silahis, lesbian
SEXUAL ORIENTATION : determined by one’s primary sexual arousal
a. heterosexual : attracted to opposite sex
b. homosexual : attracted to same sex
c. bisexual : attracted to both sex
FAMILY AS A CLIENT :
