Authority – The governing data protection body.
Definitions
Article 4.- Definitions
For the purposes of this Law, the following definitions shall apply:
a) Affected or interested party: natural person who owns the data that is the object
of the processing.
b) Transfer or communication of data: any disclosure of data to a person other than
the interested party.
c) Consent of the interested party: any manifestation of will, free, unequivocal,
specific and informed, by which the interested party consents to the processing of
his/her personal data.
d) Personal data: any information, testimony or review concerning a specifically
identified or identifiable natural person.
e) Data processor: the natural or legal person, public authority, service or anybody
or institution which is responsible for the processing of personal data on behalf of
the data controller.
f) File: any organized mechanism or system for creating, storing, archiving,
structuring and accessing personal data.
g) Sources accessible to the public: personal data files, which can be consulted by
anyone, paying the corresponding fee, such as repertoires telephone numbers, lists
of professionals, newspapers and official bulletins and the media.
h) Dissociation procedure: any processing of personal data that does not allow the
information obtained to be associated with a specifically identified or identifiable
person.
i) File or processing manager: natural or legal person, public or private, dedicated
to the processing of personal data.
j) Data processing: automated or non-automated technical procedures that allow
the collection, recording, storage, processing, transmission, modification,
cancellation and transfer of personal data resulting from communications,
interconnections and transfers thereof.
