1. Introduction to the SAT
Overview of the SAT exam format:
Reading: 52 questions, 65 minutes
Writing and Language: 44 questions, 35 minutes
Math (No Calculator): 20 questions, 25 minutes
Math (Calculator Allowed): 38 questions, 55 minutes
Essay (Optional): 1 essay, 50 minutes (Note: The essay is no longer part of the exam from 2021
onwards)
Scoring breakdown: 400–1600 (Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math)
2. Critical Reading Section
Tips for approaching reading comprehension questions:
Skim the passage first, then focus on questions.
