About this Assessment
This assessment consists of two (2)parts:
1. Instruct 6 Client Sessions
2. Conduct 1 Formal Client Review
This assessment requires you to instruct six (6) exercise sessions whilst being observed by your Workplace
Supervisor in Task 1.
This assessment also requires one (1) formal client review whilst being observed by your Workplace
Supervisor in Task 2.
Client profiles for three (3) different clients have been provided in the assessment below. To complete these
role-play activities, each client must be role played by a participant according to the assigned profile.
Instructions for the Workplace Supervisor
• You will need to observe the student instruct six (6) exercise sessions for three (3) clients to industry
standards, specific requirements for you to observe are in the observation checklist - Task 1
Observation Checklist.
• You will need to observe the student conduct one(1) formal client review forone (1) client to industry
, standards for Task 2.
• Please ensure you read the role-play information prior to completing the observationsandalso provide
your feedback for the student under the Supervisor Feedback Section at the end of this assessment

How to handle second attempts
If the student does not demonstrate the required skills to industry standards, ensure you mark them ‘No’
with the observation task and provide them feedback and a second attempt.
Depending on the level of their performance, you may:
• Let them redo the task immediately after consideration of feedback
• Request they undertake further learning and redo the task at a later date — in this case, provide the
student with a new date for the role-plays to be undertaken
• Discuss timeframes for reassessment with the student when you tell them the outcome for this task
, TASK 1: INSTRUCT SIX CLIENT SESSIONS
Task 1
Task 1 Instructions
You must complete two (2) sessions each, six in total, for the following role-play clients:
1. Male client, aged 29 years, who is active – Frank Pataki
2. Female client, aged 56 years, who is inactive – Eve Gonzales
3. Male client, aged 45 years, who is inactive, and has a diagnosed medical condition – Devin Crowder
Whilst you are instructing your sessions for the above clients, you will also be required to demonstrate all
conditioning exercises in their session plan safely and effectively:
1. Demonstrate 5 exercises for Frank Pataki
2. Demonstrate 5 exercises for Eve Gonzales

Use your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support participants to exercise safely and effectively by:
• Explaining the relationship between exercises and their benefits to both the body and their own health
• Explain injury risk factors and explain safe and effective exercise techniques
Clients may be real clients meeting these profiles, or in the absence of real clients representing these
profiles, they may be role-played.
Upon completion of this task, your supervisor will complete the Task 1 Observation Checklist located below
the session plans. Ensure you familiarise yourself with the checklist as all criteria must be covered during the
instruction of these sessions.
To complete this task, you and your supervisor will need to:
• Observe your demonstration of six(6) client sessions across three (3)different client types
• Record observations of specific components with the Task 1 Observation Checklist(below this section)
