The medical diagnosis for this patient is Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA), also
known as a stroke. A stroke is a sudden neurological event resulting from
inadequate blood flow to the brain's tissues. Ischemic strokes occur due to
reduced blood and oxygen supply to the brain, while hemorrhagic strokes are
caused by bleeding or ruptured blood vessels. (National Center for Biotechnology
Information,2020).

A common assessment finding for patients with a cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
is hemiparesis, resulting in weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, often
contralateral to the affected brain hemisphere.
Additionally, facial weakness, characterized by drooping or asymmetry, is
frequently observed. These symptoms stem from disrupted blood flow in specific
brain regions, causing focal neurological deficits.
, Upon admission, the patient exhibited right-sided weakness in the face and right
upper extremity with a strength rating of 3/5. There was also evidence of garbled
speech, suggesting a lack of improvement. Pending the results of the swallow
test, their progress in this aspect remains unknown.
