The Importance of Research Utilization in Nursing Practice
Nurses should use research information since it provides insight of current and developed
scholarly status of practice which in turn enhances patient outcomes and safety. Research ensures
that nurses are acquainted with development in the aspect of care delivery, treatment and
technologies and methodologies used in the provision of care. On the same note, research in to
their practice enables nursing personnel to think critically, develop professionally and in solving
various health related issues with evidence-based solutions.

The title, "Utilizing Telehealth Education for Persons with Chronic Kidney Disease Stages 4-5:
The role of the research study is reflected in its title “Eliminating Barriers at the Patient and
Provider Level”. It contains a description of what kind of telehealth education was delivered,
who was the intervention targeting, persons with chronic kidney disease (CKD) Stages 4-5, and
the dual objectives of reducing barriers for both patients and clinicians. It is clear and brief, and
also provides a brief idea of what the study involved.
