• Understand the Health Concerns after the Discovery

• 1870s and 1880s, scientist were investigating cathode rays
through partially evacuated glass tubes
• Roentgen experimented with Crookes tube
• His lab was darkened, tube enclosed in black photographic
paper to prevent escape of visible light
• A plate coated with barium platinocyanide which was a feet
away fluoresced
• And accidentally x-rays were discovered on 8th November Crookes T
