INTRODUCTION An essential skill for health and human services professionals is understanding community health and human service needs in order to create positive change. These professionals must understand how to develop a diverse team of stakeholders that is able to work together to meet a common goal. Then they should use that team to gain an understanding of the issues that need to be addressed so that a number of potential solutions are identified and implemented. This task challenges you to take the lead of a task force charged with understanding a community health and human services dilemma. You will first identify an appropriate group of stakeholders that should be on that task force. You will need to understand the leadership strategies necessary to avoid conflict. You will apply your knowledge of primary and secondary sources in order to better understand the dilemma. You will need to understand the needs of all members of the community in order to determine the potential solutions to the health and human services dilemma.
