1.1 INTRODUCTION TO STUDY
Human Resource Management was originally known as personnel or people
management. In the past, its role was quite limited. Within any company or
organization, HRM is a formal way of managing people. It is a fundamental part
of any organization and its management.
The main responsibilities of the personnel department include hiring,
evaluating, training, and c ompensation of employees. The human resources
department deals with any issues facing the staff in their working capacity

Employee welfare is a term that encompasses a broad range of benefits
and services that an employer may offer to its employees. It can include things
like health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance,
disability insurance, 401(k) plans, and paid time off. Employee welfare can also
include things like on-site daycare, fitness centers, and subsidized meals.
welfare helps in keeping the morale and motivation of the employees high
so as to retain the employees for longer duration. Employee welfare includes
monitoring of working conditions, creation of industrial harmony through
infrastructure for health, industrial relations and insurance against disease,
accident and unemployment for the workers and their families.
Employee welfare, also known as staff welfare, refers to the services and
benefits provided by an employer for well-being of employees. It includes
healthcare, paid time off, and amenities. These services extend from physical to
mental health among employees, helping create an efficient and satisfied

Staff welfare is one of the critical factors of employee retention. The higher the
salary for a position, the higher the costs to rehire and retrain a new employee.
There is also a correlation between employee welfare and higher productivity.
For example, Google discovered this correlation and provided numerous perks,
taking a lead on its competitors
An organization is a group of the people working together to reach the
common objectives placed before. Unless and until these employees are
coordinated and motivated the objectives can never be reached. To take the
suitable and full work from employees it is the must that these employees
should be satisfied in every aspect. Employees always work hard when they
fully satisfied with the facilities given by the organization and this itself decides
the profit of the organization.
Thus an attempt is made to study the view of employees towards their
