In February 1978, the Assembly of Notables of 144 members were noticeably
against the reforms,however not all. They encouraged the summoning g Estates
General for the Approval of the nation. When later Brienne presented his
reforms to the Parlement of Paris, it declared that on the Estates-General
as a whole can approve of this.When, consequently,Louis XVI exiled the Parlement,
the nobility found this very harsh and revolted against in summer 1778-most
opposition.
