, ABSTRACT
This paper explores the paradoxical relationship between war and trade
in shaping global progress. While war is often associated with
destruction, displacement, and long-term socioeconomic harm, it has
historically catalyzed technological advancements, infrastructure
development, and institutional changes. Conversely, trade, widely
regarded as a positive
force, fosters economic growth, cultural exchange, and international
cooperation. However, its benefits are not universally distributed, and
trade imbalances can exacerbate inequalities and geopolitical
tensions. By examining historical case studies and economic theories,
this study evaluates how war and trade have influenced global
development, considering their
potential to drive innovation and integration or perpetuate conflict and
disparity. The analysis seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of
whether these forces, when strategically managed, can collectively
contribute to a more prosperous and interconnected world.
