How far away can the drone be from you whilst you are flying it?
You must have direct sight of the drone at all times. You must be able to see the drone without using
binoculars or any kind of equipment (normal glasses are fine)
, Can someone else who can see the drone help you when flying it?
You can ask someone to be your observer when you fly. However they must be next to you and be able
to talk to you at all times.
Does an observer need a flyer ID?
No an observer does not need a flyer ID- you are still responsible for flying the drone. You should tell
them what to look out for if they are helping you fly.
What is the maximum height above ground you are allowed to fly?
120m (400ft)

there is a 50m no-fly zone around any people (never fly over people even if it is more than 50m)

You are allowed to fly closer than 50m to people involved in what you're doing but you must never put
anyone in danger

C0
You can fly closer to people than 50m and you can fly over them

or in class C1
You can fly closer to people than 50m but you cannot intentionally fly over them
When might you need to increase the distance from people in order to keep the flight safe?
- flying at high speeds
- poor weather conditions
- if you are flying higher (keep same distance as height of flight away from people)
Can you fly over crowds of people? Give some examples where crowds would be expected
Never fly over crowds of people e.g at:
-shopping areas
-sports events
-religious gatherings
-political gatherings
-music festivals and concerts
-marches and rallies
