Conscious Choking Adult/Child
1. 5 back blows (bend over slightly protecting body)
2. 5 abdominal thrusts right above the navel
3. Continue until dislodged or passed out.
4. Passed out begin unconscious choking procedures.
Child - perform 5 bb/5 at on your knees if necessary and child is too short to reach abs.
Conscious Choking Infant
1. 5 back blows leaning against knee- protect head by holding chin with opposite hand. (Head down on
angle)
2. 5 chest thrusts just below the nipple line leaning against other knee protect head with other hand.
(Head down on angle)
3. Continue until dislodged or passed out.
4. Passed out begin unconscious choking procedures.
