Healthcare system Allocations
macro level
- governmental level of the system, the level at which public health care priorities are identified,
policies developed, and budget allocation decisions made
-a wide-scale view of the role of social structures within a society
- e.g government policies on healthcare
Meso level
middle level of the system, the level at which local health care initiatives are developed and
hospital administrative decisions made
a term used to analyze the relationships among issues, individuals, and groups as viewed from a
community, or local, perspective
- in the case of ethics, we talk about hospitals and RHAs as meso level
micro level
level at which patients encounter health care provider
- may be considered the most significant level for patients because what matters most to them is
whether or not their treatment is beneficial and whether or not they are treated with dignity and
respect
