Class 7 Maths Annual Exam Notes
1. Integers
- Integers include positive, negative numbers, and zero.
- Operations:
- Addition: (+) + (+) = (+), (-) + (-) = (-), (-) + (+) = Subtract and take the sign of the bigger number.
- Subtraction: Change the sign of the second number and follow addition rules.
- Multiplication & Division:
- (+) x (+) = (+), (-) x (-) = (+), (-) x (+) = (-), (+) x (-) = (-).
- Properties: Closure, Commutative, Associative, Distributive.
2. Fractions and Decimals
- Fractions: Proper (3/4), Improper (5/3), Mixed (2 1/3).
- Operations: Addition & subtraction (same denominator), multiplication (numerator x numerator,
denominator x denominator), division (flip second fraction and multiply).
- Decimals: Align points for addition & subtraction; multiply normally and adjust decimal places.
3. Rational Numbers
- Numbers in the form p/q where q is not 0.
- Follow the same rules as fractions.
4. Algebra
- Expressions: Variables, constants, operations (e.g., 3x + 2).
- Simplification: Combine like terms.
- Linear Equations: ax + b = c (solve by isolating x).
5. Ratio and Proportion
- Ratio: Comparison of two numbers (e.g., 3:5).
- Proportion: Two equal ratios (e.g., 2:3 = 4:6).
- Direct Proportion: Both increase or decrease.
- Inverse Proportion: One increases, the other decreases.
