Book of Genesis - Life Applications from the first book of Bible:

1. God is real, powerful, eternal and we can trust Him. All knowing God is the
creator of the Universe. He exists even before the creation of the world. He is
eternal. According to an estimate 1 million earths can fit into a sun and the biggest
star U Y Scuti can accommodate 5 billion suns. The vastness, the magnitude and
precision in creation of the universe speaks volumes about the greatness of God.
Bible tells us that God calls each star by name. (Psalm 147:4)

2. We live in God’s creation. It’s a God given responsibility to take care of the
environment and the ecosystem. We are accountable to God as stewards of nature.
In a biological environment each organism interacts with the other for mutual
benefit and survival.

3. We are made in the image of God. Man is the summit of creation. God craves to
have fellowship with man. God is indispensible to man. “There is a God shaped
vacuum in every human heart and only God can fill it”. (Blaise Pascal)

4. Obedience is the key to usefulness, Joy and Blessing. Our first parents disobeyed
and lost the paradise. Cain disobeyed and became a vagabond but Noah obeyed
God and became a rescuer of mankind.

5. We are all made of Clay. It is observed that the famous in the bible also have
weaknesses. They are also made of the same clay as we are and yet the Lord used
them to accomplish His purposes.

6. Life is a pilgrimage. We are all travellers and the earth is not our final destination.
We should keep eternity on our eyes to look at everything with eternal perspective.

7. Satan is real but a defeated enemy. He prowls like a roaring lion to devour the
believers.(1 Peter 5:8) He is a liar. He is restless and makes use of every opportunity
to destroy God-Man relationship. We should remember that the one who is in us is
greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

8. The God of the patriarchs is our God too. God doesn’t change and always in
control. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God is stable but man’s
nature, will and decisions are always changing. One finds hope and joy after reading
the book of Genesis as God’s plan and purpose for humanity are clearly revealed.
