S&S of thyroid storm
, Propylthiouracil (PTU) and methimazone (Tapazole)
Propranolol( Inderal) for excessive sympathetic stimulation
What meds do you give to thyroid storm?

d/t withdrawal of corticosteroid

Bone marrow aspiration positive for anemia
Diagnostics test of anemia (Hgb, Hct, RBCs)
1.administer blood products
2.rest
3.teach about diet

red meats, organ meats, whole wheat products, spinach, carrots
Food containing iron
green vegetables, liver, citrus fruits
Food containing folic acid
glandular meats, yeast, green leafy vegetables, milk, and cheese
food containing Vit B6
1.pain relief
2.adequate hydration
Nursing interventions for sicke cell crisis (2)
chills, fever, low bck pain, flushing, tachycardia, hypoTN, progressing to acute
renal failure, shock, and cardiac arrest
S&S of acute hymolytic
stop trasfusion
Start a new saline
treat shock
draw blood samples for serologic testing
