At the end of the lesson, students will be able to;
a. discuss the period of Enlightenment.
b. recognize the involvement of the three martyred Filipino priests
GOMBURZA in this period.
c. recall the life of Rizal, and;
d. appreciate the notable Filipino heroes who contributed to the
country’s literary heritage.
II. Subject Matter

“Fact or Bluff”
The teacher will ask students to read the following statements and
they will be asking whether it is fact or a bluff.
Statements:
1. GOMBURZA refers to three Filipino Catholic Priest, Mariano Gomez,
Jose Burgos, Jacinto Zamora.
2. Teodoro Alonzo was the First Teacher of Jose Rizal.
3. Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado Alonzo y Realonda was born on June 19,
1861 at Calamba, Laguna.
4. Ilustrados means “enlightened one” in Spanish which referred to a
group of educated young Filipinos in the late 1800s.
5. The Propaganda Movement was led by Andres Bonifacio.
The students will come up with the following answers:
