A. Description of the decision or problem
Treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension with the
medication Selexipeg, an oral medication used to lower the blood
pressure in the lungs through dilation of the of the vessels that
supply the lungs (Drugs, 2018). Is this medication an effective
treatment for PAH or not?
B. How the interval would impact the decision and what level of
confidence would be most appropriate and why?
The interval could be impacted by the sample size used,
percentage, and population size.
The sample size affects the interval by indicating that the larger
the sample size the more accurate and the smaller the confidence
interval will be. Percentage affects the intervals because if say
90% have effect treatment and 10% don’t then it’s more likely
that the medication will work for most and it’s going to be the
more accurate and reflect true for the population. Population
size will make a difference if use a small group, if a much larger
group is used then the population size will not be a factor.
