Q.NO SECTION-A M.M.
1 Two balls of different masses are thrown vertically upward with same initial 1
speed. Which one will rise to greater height?
2 What is the number of significant figures in 0.06070? 1
OR
State principle of homogeneity of dimensions?
3 How the speed of sound wave does vary with humidity? 1
4 When a pendulum is taken to some mountain height, it becomes slow. But a
wristwatch controlled by spring remains unaffected. Why? 1
OR
Two satellites are at different heights. Which would have greater orbital
velocity? Why?
5 What is elastic collision ? 1
6 A simple harmonic motion is described by a= -16x, Where a is acceleration
and x is displacement from mean position. What is its time period? 1
, 7 State law of equipartition of energy of energy for monatomic gas. 1
OR
What do you mean by mean free path of a gas molecule?
8 Give the dimensional formula of Coefficient of viscosity. 1

most accurate?
(A)4.9cm (B)4.805cm (C) 5.25cm (D) 5.4cm
9 Heat is supplied to a system but its internal energy does not increase. What 1
process is involved?
10 A particle moves in circular path with decreasing speed. What happens to its
angular momentum? 1
For question numbers 11, 12, 13 and 14, two statements are given-one
labeled Assertion (A) and the other labeled Reason (R). Select the correct
answer to these questions from the codes (a), (b), (c) and (d) as given
below.
a) (a)Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A
b) (b)Both A and R are true but R is NOT the correct explanation of A
c) (c)A is true but R is false
d) (d)A is false and R is also false
ASSERTION:
11 Air quickly leaking out of balloon becomes cooler.
REASON: 1
The leaking air undergoes adiabatic expansion.
ASSERTION:
12 If 𝐴⃗.𝐵
⃗⃗=|𝐴⃗×𝐵
⃗⃗|, Then angle between 𝐴⃗ and 𝐵 ⃗⃗ is 𝜋.
REASON: 1
If the angle between 𝐴⃗ and 𝐵 ⃗⃗ is π, Then their cross product is non-zero.
ASSERTION:
13 When a man jumps from a boat to shore, The boat moves slightly away from
the shore. 1
REASON: The total momentum should remain constant.
