and originally concerned only the study of water
forces (Hydrodynamics)
• Hydraulics encompasses the study of liquid
forces
• Aircraft utilize both hydraulic and pneumatic
systems for power (pneudraulics)
• Generally –
➢Hydraulics is used when high pressures and
precise control are required
➢Pneumatics is used with low pressures and
where precise control is not required
