1.​ What point is Goldman trying to make with his baseball analogy at the beginning of his talk?



The point they're trying to get across is how good the doctors are.




2.​ Goldman tells the story of Mrs. Drucker whom he treated for congestive heart failure. He says

that he made several mistakes. What mistakes did Goldman make?



He sent Mrs. Drucker home, he sent her home without speaking to his attender, he didn't pick up

the phone and let him see her. He also disregarded the little voice telling him it was not a good

idea.




3.​ After Mrs. Drucker died, what did Goldman experience emotionally? Do you think many people

experience the emotions that he went through?



He was shocked and shaken to his core, and he beat himself up he also felt alone and isolated. I

do believe that many people go through the same emotions as he did due to feeling guilty.




4.​ As you continued to listen to Goldman’s talk, were you surprised to hear about how similar

situations (to Mrs. Drucker’s) continued to happen again and again throughout his career? Does

knowing this change your opinion of him as a doctor?
